The Hell Hounds (poem)

When I suffer I am in touch with the Almighty,
The Omnipotent, the Spirits, the Universe...
The stars guide me through the dark forests,
And the hungry wolves...
Those damn wolves, they're everywhere...

But when I transcend the dark,
And enter into the light,
That shone at the end of the dark tunnel...
There will always be the next set of problems,
When things are good, and I'm feeling fine,
When I'm chatty, the life of the party,
I look over my shoulder,
Through the wreckage, and the ruins of my past traumas...
The Hell Hounds are there, barking at me...
Behind me that is, in my ears...
They tell me things are good, fine...
But hell is waiting for my return....
They bark at me to keep going,
To walk the plank of fun and celebration...
To remind me,
Things are good now,
But don't take the good times for granted...

When a woman loves me... Here come the Hell Hounds
When money comes.... The Hell Hounds
When I'm the man with the most... The Hell Hounds...
When I'm at the center...  The Hell Hounds...

They tell me often,
"We are watching you,
We are tormenting you,
We are haunting you...
When things are good, We will bark at you...
We are omnious, in fact an omen...
We are the Hell Hounds....
Your tormentor...
Barking..."
Amen
